What is the most important element to a successful event? Why, it’s chemistry of course. The science of reactions among guests, food & wine under the right conditions (think setting, music, lighting) reminds us good fortune is to be surrounded by friends, family, food – and Fruitations!
While not as tricky as Rachel’s Trifle Beef main course dessert on Friends, hosting takes practice and even being thrown into the fire. If the electricity goes out, cook on the grill, light some candles and enjoy the warm and wonderful atmosphere. Silver linings, good friends & Fruitations will get you through every time.
Here are some pro tips taken from our own experiences:
- Go with what you know. Don’t try anything too complex the first time. Better yet, give it a dry run so there are no surprises on D-day.
- Space out! Don’t overrun the kitchen with too many items and dishes. What can you prep & plate in advance?
- Simplicity doesn’t mean simple. A roast chicken goes a long way with all the right seasonings and sides. Just ask The Barefoot Contessa – hi Ina, hi Jeffrey!
- Bar pre-check: glasses, ice, lime, club soda, garnish, Fruitations!
Welcome guests with a smile, a little nosh and then give free reign at your well-stocked, essentials-laden home bar. Fresh mint garnish, lots of sliced fruit and flowers will enhance the vibe – let the chemical reactions begin!
